About Us

The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Incorporated was officially established in 2020 after the closure of Leahurst Home for Aged Trained Nurses Incorporated, with the objective to further the nursing and midwifery professions in South Australia. The association is run by a board of management comprising of past or current nurses and midwives. Since the inception of the foundation, the board has established several scholarships in collaboration with the South Australian universities, as well as becoming a Bronze and Category Sponsor for the South Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards. The board meets on a bimonthly basis to determine how the nursing and midwifery professions can be promoted and supported in South Australia, and any suggestions will be most welcomed.
